zozos-world said: Whats your opinion on the whole VMA thing that everyones freaking out about? Not necesarly the f bomb thing but also the speech when she got the award?

Extremely smart publicity, in my opinion. Taylor is a savvy businesswoman and I honestly don’t think that “IKWYT” is about Harry (though I do think, similar to “White Horse”, it’s a song that was written about somebody else but became relevant as she was promoting the album). But I do think that Taylor knows what she’s doing when it comes to PR.

And the fact that Harry was there probably influenced her speech enough to stir up a little discussion/attention about her songs and her album.

And even if none of that is true, it isn’t out of the norm anyway for Taylor to say something along those lines (“If boys don’t want me to write bad songs about them, they shouldn’t do bad things.” - Forever & Always).

Even MORE additionally, it’s not an out-of-the-norm comment anyway? How many times have people said “Thanks to the bullies out there because, without them, I wouldn’t be here.” Or something to that effect. So many celebrities have been all “”sassy”” and thanked their haters for fuelling them emotionally and isolating them enough that it came out in their work, which made them famous.

The only thing “controversial” about what Taylor Swift said is the fact that she is Taylor Swift and apparently anything she says is worthy of a death threat.

Taylor Swift. This was her primary tool of communication during the self-titled and Fearless eras. It was what got her so much attention to begin with, because she was one of the few stars out there to connect with fans via social media. You can see it mentioned so many times in pretty much every interview from 2006-08. Taylor was also one of the first celebrities to sign up for a Twitter account.

Haha her Myspace. When she used it. That was a very old comment that a bunch of sneaky Swifties found while creeping her profile and comments she made back in high school.

(I kid … sort of).

Closely tied with “I think beauty is sincerity” and pretty much any of her introduction speeches to “Ours.”

I actually love seeing her sassier side come out on her old myspace! All her old myspace comments are priceless, but this one is my favorite:

And actually every single one of her speeches in her concerts. They’re so genuine.

You can check out some of my Top 5’s here, though that’s a little bit dated (I’ll still probably stand by her Marchesa gown from the CMAs forever, though).

Her Elie Saab at the BRITS this year was killer. And she looked so clean and amazing in J. Mendel at last year’s CMAs. As well as her custom Ralph Lauren at the People’s Choice.

You can also check out the masterpost of both Anna’s and mine favourite outfits from 2012 - which is a mixture of award/event/candid outfits.

Highly amused, to be honest. And I’m gonna tack on the fact that we have zero context for why/if she even said that.

- Sarah

We all know she swears; girl knows all the words to honey badger don’t care.

Anonymous said: Do you know of a less expensive version of the Miu Miu glitter oxfords Taylor wears while performing?

I recommended a few different sparkly oxfords in this post. Glitter oxfords are also frequently available at stores like Forever 21, UO and Target.

Anonymous said: I adore the types of dresses Taylor wears, and I was just wondering what stores you would suggest that sell dresses similar to hers.

Taylor loves dresses from Urban Outfitters, Free People, ModCloth and Anthropologie.

For more info on Taylor’s favourite brands (and the specific items she usually gets from said brands) check out our Frequently Worn Brands page which is also located in our FAQ page.

- Sarah

If you live in the states I would say even Target and Forever21 have great cheaper options!

Sure do! Taylor didn’t sing the full song (sad) but sang a bit of the chorus before introducing Tim McGraw himself and they played “Highway Don’t Care.” Video in HD here.

Anonymous said: I remember at one point you having this mass post on this interview Tay did talking about a lot of the make up she wears, but I can't find that post. Is there any way you can link it? (Also, is Taylor still a spokesperson for CoverGirl? She's not listed on the site, and I haven't seen anything)

Sure can! Here’s the master post of all of Taylor’s favourite things - an excerpt from her Vanity Fair interview. In addition to makeup, Taylor talks about her favourite fashion items, things to put in her home and her favourite inspirations.

Also, Taylor is no longer officially a spokesperson for CoverGirl. Her contract with them ended with the Speak Now era. If you’ve noticed, every tour needs a sponsor for budgetary reasons. For the SN Tour it was CoverGirl, Elizabeth Arden (Wonderstruck Enchanted) and American Greetings (thanks screamingiminlovewithyou!). The RED Tour is sponsored by Keds and Diet Coke.

I went last night to the Soldier Field show, and I just keep saying “OH MY GOSH,” as in “oh my gosh how did this happen?!!” and “oh my gosh that was amazing” and “oh my gosh Taylor is flawless in person!” Basically, it was amazing and if any of you are lucky enough to go you should!

- Anna

I went to the show in Vancouver (and my best friend surprised me with a sign because she’s TSS’ numbah one fan) and I’ll be going to the Portland and Tacoma shows at the end of this month! … PARTY!!!!!

Anonymous said: who is the main supplier of Taylor's sparkly award show gowns? I feel like it's changed over the years but maybe (probably) I'm wrong

Elie Saab is pretty much the ruler of the sparkly, feminine gown.
